Upgraded Israel Diamond Exchange Technology Service Center Inaugurated

Yesterday, just prior the official opening of  International Diamond Week Israel (IDWI) – which formally commences today -  the Israel Diamond Exchange’s (IDE) newly renovated diamond technological service centre was inaugurated at a ceremony   held in the diamond trading hall, which was packed with diamantaires from Israel and abroad.

The ceremony was opened by Shmuel Schnitzer, President of the Israel Diamond Exchange, who  explained “the usefulness and convenience” of the diamond technology service centre for Israeli diamantaires.

“I believe that the means we are providing to diamond manufacturers will be fully utilised and will assist in the expansion of diamond production in this country,” said Schnitzer. “The re-opening of this technological service centre joins other efforts we are making and marks the continuation of the history of the Israeli Diamond Industry.”

The President of the Israel Diamond Manufacturers Association  Kobi Korn said on the occasion: “This is one of the Israeli diamond industry offerings that bourse members regularly take advantage of. We have more plans to develop it and I hope that you continue to use the centre.”

Israel’s Diamond Controller Shmuel Mordechai continued to addressing the audience commented: “This moment is one of excitement for all of us. I hope that everyone continues to make good use of the technology wing, which serves as a home away from home for everyone who wishes to make use of its services,” Mordechai explained.

The ceremony concluded with the attachment of a mezuzah (a Jewish tradition of affixing parts of the Torah text to a doorpost) at the entrance to the technology wing, which is located in the diamond trading hall of the Israel Diamond Exchange
