Varda Shine Appointed on Lonmin Board

Varda Shine, former CEO of DTC, has been appointed as an independent non-executive director of Lonmin plc, one of the world’s largest primary producers of platinum group metals. 

Shine had left DTC in February 2014 after an eight year stint as CEO of De Beers’ DTC. Prior to that she had been associated with De Beers in various executive level and managerial positions in Israel and London for 30 years. During her tenure she also held non-executive positions on the Boards of DTC Botswana and Namibia DTC. Just before stepping down, Shine had successfully managed the relocation of DTC’s London office to Botswana.  

Shine completed her Business Management Programme at Technion, the Israel Institute of Technology and the Advanced Management Programme at Oxford University.
