VicenzaOro Winter Show Sees Large Turnout

GJEPC has organised an India Pavillion at the show, with 13 exhibitors spread over Hall No 3.0 and Hall No 3.1. Most exhibitors reported that the opening day saw mainly buyers with pre-arranged appointment but, subsequently over the weekend, there were a significant number of walk-ins as well.

The show has been reorganised with exhibitors placed into homogeneous communities, made of similar businesses, which can be recognised in terms of reference values, positioning, product type, distribution systems and overall image, the organisers said in a statement.

There are six main “districts” -- Icon, Creation, Look, for jewellery; Essence, featuring diamond, coloured gemstones and other precious components; Expression, featuring packaging and visual merchandising and marketing materials; Evolution, highlighting precious metals and their processing technologies.

The opening of the show incorporated a concert by pianist Stefano Bollani whose mix of jazz, classic numbers, rock: music devoid of limitations of genre or style captivated the audience.

While a number of business deals were being struck by buyers and sellers the show also saw some important new tie-ups – for eg., between the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and Fiera di Vicenza, paving the way for an Italian pavilion at the March HK show; another between  Fiera Di Vicenza and the Women’s Jewelry Association Italy.

The Jewellery Technology Seminar and the Trend Forum were other attractions.

The show closes on January 28.
