WJH/PDE conducts roadshow in São Paulo, Brazil

A delegation of diamond and jewellery manufacturers from the World Jewelry Hub (WJH) / Panama Diamond Exchange (PDE) visited Brazil from August 12-15, 2015. The visit was part of the organisation’s South American outreach programme. Brazil was the fifth country to be visited.

The visit coincided with the Feninjer 2015 trade fair in São Paulo.

A highlight of the visit was a B2B networking event facilitating interaction between representatives of key jewellery companies from Brazil and the WJH/PDE delegation on August 13 at São Paulo. It featured a presentation about the World Jewelry Hub and Panama Diamond Exchange by Ali Pastorini, WJH Director of Marketing. Subsequently, individual meetings between companies were also held.

Important members of the Brazilian jewellery sector, including international names like H. Stern and Carla Amorim, as well as miners, bankers and visitors from as far afield as Paraguay and French Guinea, attended the event. Also addressing the gathering was Dr. Arthur Migliari, a legal authority, who spoke about the implementation of the Kimberley Process in Brazil, and who emphasised the important role that will be played by a structured diamond exchange, such as PDE, in regulating the diamond business in Latin America.
