Andrey Polyakov Resigns from ALROSA

Andrey Polyakov, Vice president of ALROSA has stepped down from his position in the company, according to reports in the Russian media, quoting news agency RNS. The reports state that his resignation is effective June 30, 2017.

The agency is reported to have received confirmation from ALROSA that reiterated that it was Polyakov’s own decision to resign.

According to the reports, RNS said it had received a statement from ALROSA on behalf of President Sergey Ivanov stating:

"For 13 years, Andrew has done a lot not only for ALROSA, but also for the development of cooperation between major players in the international diamond market. Since all of the most important tasks and projects that involved Andrew in recent years are successfully solved and implemented, I understand his desire to pursue his career outside the company. ALROSA is grateful for his contribution to the company. I am confident that his knowledge and experience will be needed in other large-scale projects, which he plans to do."

 As reported earlier, Polyakov’s resignation from his post as President of the World Diamond Council (WDC) is also effective June 30.
