Angola’s ENDIAMA and SODIAM Join Natural Diamond Council

Angola’s state-owned diamond companies, ENDIAMA E.P. and SODIAM E.P., have formally joined the Natural Diamond Council (NDC) after completing all legal and regulatory requirements for membership.

ENDIAMA E.P., short for Empresa Nacional de Diamantes de Angola, Angola’s national diamond mining company, manages the country’s diamond resources with a focus on long-term development, while SODIAM E.P., an abbreviation of Sociedade de Comercialização de Diamantes de Angola, is responsible for the marketing and export of Angola’s natural diamonds. Their inclusion brings a stronger producer-country voice into the Council’s global marketing and consumer education efforts.

The development follows the Luanda Accord signed in June 2025, which called for closer cooperation among producing countries and industry stakeholders to support the natural diamond sector and the communities that depend on it. Leaders from both organisations said the decision reflects Angola’s commitment to responsible growth and sustained investment in global promotion of natural diamonds.

The NDC said it is also reviewing its governance framework to allow wider participation across the diamond value chain, aimed at improving transparency and engagement. The new memberships mark a positive step in strengthening collaboration across the global natural diamond industry.
