Diamond Fields Receives 10-Year Extension For Namibian Mining Licence

Diamond Fields International Ltd.  announced recently  that the Namibian Ministry of Mines and Energy has renewed the Company's key mining licence, ML111, for a period of 10 years.

On September 28 this year, the Company had intimated that it had received a    notification from the Namibian Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) regarding the Ministry’s intention to renew the licence. However, the renewal was subject to the Company fulfilling certain terms and conditions. One of these
was  a requirement for  the Company to  undertake a renewed environmental impact assessment and have an Environmental Management Plan Report prepared and approved; another requirement was that  at least 5% of the stake in its local subsidiary must be owned by a Namibian citizen.
