Gem Diamonds Recovers Another +100 Ct Diamond; The Ninth this Year

Gem Diamonds Limited  has recently recovered a   115 carat, top white colour Type IIa diamond from the Letšeng mine in Lesotho.

The Letšeng mine is described by Gem Diamonds as “the highest dollar per carat kimberlite diamond mine in the world”.

“This is the ninth diamond of over 100 carats recovered in 2018, already exceeding the total number of diamonds of over 100 carats recovered in 2017,” the Company announced.  

Since its 2006 acquisition of the mine, Gem Diamonds has recovered several such stones, amongst them, five of the 20 largest diamonds  ever found.
