GJEPC officials held a meeting with senior Customs officials on 20th August at the New Custom House, Delhi, to address a long-standing import issue and discuss the release of two shipments stalled at the EDI port. Mr. Antarpal Singh Sawhney, Regional Chairman (North), GJEPC, met with the Commissioner (Airport), Additional Commissioner (Airport), Assistant Commissioner (Airport), and the Jewellery Appraiser (Import).

He also held detailed discussions with Smt Ashima Bansal, IRS, Commissioner of Customs (ACC Export), Delhi, on streamlining the clearance of jewellery hand-carry shipments, particularly in anticipation of increased consignments during the upcoming festive season and a series of overseas exhibitions. Mr Sanjay Madaan, Chief Manager, GJEPC, also participated in the deliberations, which concluded on a positive note.
