GJEPC Holds Export Awareness Seminar in Kolkata

The Eastern Regional Office of The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council organised a seminar on Export Documentation and Procedures for both existing and new members at Kolkata on April 3, 2019.

The theme was discussed in the context of the government’s Foreign Trade Policy as well as various other notifications and circulars of the Customs department.

Prakash Chandra Pincha, Regional Chairman gave a presentation on the main theme and briefly discussed the finer points of actual documentation and procedures to be followed while conducting exports of gems and jewellery. He also highlighted the proper methods for achieving minimum value addition as envisaged under current FTP and for filing claims related to wastage as per the existing norms.

Members of the Regional Committee who were present also took part in the discussion that followed and clarified various points raised by the audience during the Q&A session. Over 40 active exporters as well as representatives of Nominated Agencies / Banks were present.
