GJEPC Kolkata RO Organises E-Commerce Export Summit in Howrah

GJEPC’s Kolkata Regional Office, in collaboration with the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) Kolkata, successfully conducted an E-Commerce Export Summit at the Ankurhati Gems & Jewellery Park, Howrah, West Bengal on 21st October, 2024.

The summit aimed to educate and guide new entrants and budding entrepreneurs in the diamond jewellery industry in Howrah District about the potential of e-commerce exports. The event featured presentations from various government agencies and industry experts, highlighting the facilities available exclusively to GJEPC members.

Shri Amit Bhardwaj, IRS, Joint Commissioner of Customs, Kolkata, graced the occasion as the chief guest, while Shri Vishnu Kant, ITS, Deputy DGFT Kolkata, and Shri Pankaj Parekh, Eastern Regional Chairman, GJEPC, were also present.

The summit covered a wide range of topics, including the process of onboarding on Amazon International, government schemes for MSMEs, the “Dakghar Niryat Kendra” (DNK) initiative by India Post, and the services offered by DHL India Ltd. Participants had the opportunity to ask questions and gain valuable insights from the experts.

Shri Pankaj Parekh welcomed the attendees and emphasised the GJEPC's commitment to promoting exports and providing benefits to its members. Mr. Kaushik Ghosh, Assistant Director, GJEPC, discussed the potential of jewellery manufactured in Howrah District and the opportunities available in the e-commerce market.

The summit was attended by approximately 85 participants and was widely regarded as informative and beneficial for the jewellery manufacturers in Howrah District. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Shri Ashok Bengani, President of Ankurhati Gems & Jewellery Park.
