Huge Turnout on First Two Days of Jaipur Jewellery Show

The first two days of the 12th Jaipur Jewellery Show (JJS) has seen a good response from visitors with crowds peaking on Sunday with over 10,000 visitors. The organisers say that the “awesome designs, latest conceptual Modern art work and traditional jewellery are attracting people to visit the Show in big numbers”.

The show was inaugurated on December 20 in the presence of prominent members of the gems and jewellery trade from across the country and senior government officials. This year’s edition is focused on the Ruby with the theme stone being described as “Red, Rare and Royal”. It is the biggest-ever JJS with 552 booths as compared to just 67 when the show first began. For the first time the show has also had a separate section for jewellery and loose gemstones.

Besides modern and traditional jewellery, a number of stalls showcase local craftsmanship with a range of artistic creations and artefacts using coloured gemstones and traditional techniques like kundan-meena etc.
