IIGJ Mumbai was recognised as a “Premium Jewellery Design & Manufacturing Institute” at  the 5th edition of the GJTCI Excellence Awards organised by the Gems & Jewellery Trade Council of India (GJTCI) at Ahmedabad on January 6, 2018.

Mansukh Kothari, a member of the Committee of Administration of The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) received the award on behalf of IIGJ.

The institute was set up in 2003 and has trained over 3,000 students including 11 batches  that completed the three-year course in jewellery manufacturing and design, which was earlier a diploma course, but has now become a full fledged degree programme.
