The Diamond Producers Council (DPC) was launched on 20 October 2026 to represent laboratory-grown diamond producers and address marketing claims concerning diamond identity, value, scarcity and production.

According to its launch announcement, the council’s members collectively produce more than 20 million carats of jewellery-grade diamonds annually. The DPC said it would challenge claims it considers false or unsupported and advocate for clear disclosure of a diamond’s origin.

Diamond analyst Avi Krawitz notes that the DPC’s impact could depend on its ability to strengthen production monitoring and coordination among lab-grown diamond producers amid persistent oversupply and falling prices.
