Lucapa Diamond Company Limited   has appointed Nick Selby as Executive Director, Operations.

Defining his role, the Company said that Selby “will play an integral role in the development of the high-value Mothae kimberlite diamond project in Lesotho, as well as the continued growth in diamond mining and exploration activities at the flagship Lulo diamond project in Angola”.

A qualified metallurgist, Selby has more than 35 years of experience in the diamond industry.

He has worked extensively in Angola and Lesotho – base of  Lucapa’s key African operations – for global diamond companies including De Beers, SouthernEra Diamonds and Gem Diamonds.

Selby, who joined Lucapa in October 2014 as General Manager, Operations, was appointed Chief Operating Officer in December 2014.
