The Annual Academy Awards, more popularly known as the Oscars have always piqued interest not only on account of the overhanging question “who will win what?”, but also because everyone is on the look-out to spot “who wore what?”

Diamonds have always adorned the red carpet, and ever since Forevermark – the diamond brand for De Beers -- came on the scene, they have lit up many a star at the special event.

The 90th Annual Academy Awards was no exception. The stars on this specific firmament glittered with Forevemark diamonds. Most notably, it was Allison Janney, Mary J. Blige, and Gina Rodriguez  who were the standard bearers for the brand. The former two were both nominees for the ‘Best Supporting Actress’ Award; and the winner was… Allison Janney for her role in I, Tonya. 

The talented actress had already won the BAFTA, SAG Award, Golden Globe, and Critic’s Choice Award this season; and previously, she has won seven Emmys and Screen Actors Guild Awards, and received two Tony Award nominations throughout her illustrious career.

This was Janney’s first Oscar nomination and win. She accepted the award channeling timeless Hollywood glamour sporting 128 carats of sparkling Forevermark diamonds  including a classic diamond Riviera necklace; stud earrings; stacked diamond line bracelets and an 18 carat Forevermark Exceptional Diamond cocktail ring which complemented her dramatic red gown. 

“Being at the Academy Awards in stunning Forevermark Diamonds makes me feel incredibly special,” said Janney. “I also feel good knowing that they help to support women’s health and education programmes in their diamond producing communities.”

Making Academy Award history, Mary J. Blige is  the first person ever to receive double nominations for Best Original Song and Best Supporting Actress for Mudbound. “The undisputed Queen of Hip Hop Soul marked her arrival as a movie star on the Oscars red carpet wearing oversized statement diamond earrings and two diamond cocktail rings paired with her white gown,” a statement from Forevermark described, elaborating on her look. “She then changed ensembles for her moving performance of “Mighty River” wearing another pair of ornate Forevermark diamond statement earrings and ring.”

For Gina Rodriguez , Academy Award presenter, it was a pair of oversized starburst diamond stud earrings and stackable rings to give her all the reassurance she needed to face the audience. Rodriguez’s stylist, Lauren Rodriguez said of her look, “Diamonds are always a classic choice, but Forevermark Diamonds seem to have an extra sparkle that stands out on the red carpet, just like Gina does.”
