PGI India to Host 8th Platinum Buyer-Seller Meet in Kochi

Platinum Guild International (PGI) India is all set to host the 8th edition of its annual Platinum Buyer-Seller Meet in Kochi, Kerala, on 26-27 June, 2025. The event will bring together 14 leading platinum jewellery manufacturers and over 60 top retailers from across the country. This year’s theme—centred on success, growth, and innovation—aims to position platinum as the metal of choice for modern Indian consumers.

Vaishali Banerjee, Managing Director, PGI India & Middle East, and Head of Global Market Development, PGI, said: “As we step into the 8th edition, we’re seeing notable shifts in consumer behaviour, where platinum is gaining greater mindshare driven by evolving preferences and favourable pricing trends. This year, our focus is on powering the next phase of growth through compelling design language and impactful market storytelling that expands both relevance and occasions for platinum jewellery.”

Retail leaders echoed the sentiment. Dr. Joy Alukkas called the meet a “vital platform” for aligning with customer trends, while PNG Jewellers’ Dr. Saurabh Gadgil highlighted platinum’s rising appeal among self-purchasers and younger demographics. Senco Gold’s Suvankar Sen pointed to competitive pricing and purity as key drivers of platinum’s momentum.

Exhibiting manufacturers are expected to unveil a wide spectrum of innovations—from modular, bi-metal designs to engineered silhouettes and bold men’s collections. Companies like Prism, ORO, BN Jewellers, Emerald, Jewelex, and Kama Jewellery are set to present collections tailored to emerging market demands, including customisation, new age aesthetics, and design-led differentiation.
