Sergey Barsukov appointed as ALROSA Vice President

ALROSA has announced the appointment of Sergey Barsukov as its new Vice-President with charge of liaison with public authorities with immediate effect. A member of ALROSA’s Supervisory Board since 2011, Barsukov’s responsibilities will include lawmaking, industry statutory regulation and licensing, and work with international and Russian industry professional and public organizations, a statement from ALROSA said.

Prior to his new appointment, Sergey Barsukov was Director of Financial Policy Department, Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation, a post he held since 2010.

Describing the new VP as one who has been familiar with the Company and its business, having represented the Ministry of Finance on the Supervisory Board since 2011, ALROSA President Sergey Ivanov said, “His wealth of experience and expertise in management positions in financial companies and government service, knowledge of the diamond mining industry will help us to build consistent work and ensure an effective dialogue between the Company and key stakeholder groups.”

Barsukov, born on September 2, 1971 in Kalinin, is a graduate of Mozhaisky Military Space Engineering Academy with a Diploma in Mathematical Support for Computer-Aided Data Collection and Processing Systems (1993), and Saint-Petersburg State University with a Diploma in Public and Regional Administration (2005).
